a.d. cruze is a dj and producer who has been a staple in the south beach club scene since the early 90's. his early beginnings as a dance music a&r and promoter for streetbeat records and whirling/sire records served as a solid foundation for his goal to become a professional dj and dance music producer.
he has djayed at nearly every venue on south beach over the last ten years and has travelled to play at some of the best known clubs across the u.s. and overseas. simultaneously running hitz record pool for djs and scouting new artists for the record labels he has worked for.
exposure to artists like johnny vicious, hex hector and robbie rivera pushed him to work on his own music and establish himself as a taste maker dj in south beach. his production style and djing sound is a little of 2 things.
latin or afro tribal rhythms and bumpy synths. his tracks always feature percussion and synths with a bouncy feel and a lots of brights. his latin influences have played a key role in his sound and when combined with the analog synths for which he has an affinity for create a distinct sound all his own.
lately he's been trying to concentrate on doing prime time records that will work in a late evening set. but in south beach djs play peak hour records on sunday afternoons so who knows what the term "peak hour" means anymore! all in all he says its just about continuously working on your music and doing what you enjoy. as a.d. simply puts it I'm just glad to be making music and getting paid to do it after more than a decade on south beach.
